Jacking and Skating can be the ideal alternative to mobile cranes where access for a mobile crane can be difficult or even impossible. For a lift over 65 tonne our overhead Jacking and Skating system becomes extremely competitive both in cost and as weights increase further, also for a time.
We have a designated jacking and skating crew who have the capability, expertise and equipment to jack and skate items from 1 tonne to 500 tonnes.
We find strengths in the power industry for the removal or installation of transformers inside buildings, or where limited space does not allow for crane set up.
Another advantage is found in live substations where our overall height can remain within safe working distance of live assets. In addition to being the only alternative under these conditions, even where a mobile crane is a possibility, our systems are competitive for a 65-85 tonne lift and as weights increase, they become the more time effective and less expensive option.
Similarly, for heavy machinery such as printing presses, lathes, boilers, their usual positions within buildings makes mobile crane access impossible. These machines are sometimes skated out of the buildings then lifted by crane for transport, our system is a one stop shop with the capability for a 200 tonne lift and the ability to set down the load directly onto a trailer.
