History

History

The original company commenced business in 1960 from Wickham Road Moorabin as a division of May’s Vibrated Concrete Pty Ltd. It worked delivering company manufactured concrete products, from small paving slabs, pipes, culverts, panels and up to 80 tonne beams.

In 1962, we commenced working for companies outside the company group and by the mid 1960’s we had developed a good base of customers and were expanding.

In 1968, we registered the transport division as May’s V.C. Transport Pty Ltd and the company grew further working for companies such as Country Roads Board (Vic Roads), Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works, Public Works Department, State Rivers & Water Supply Commission, EA Watts, John Hollands and many more.

The company continued growing from the 1970’s through to the mid 80’s where we won the job to deliver the MCG Light Towers

The company continued growing from the 1970’s through to the mid 80’s where we won the job to deliver the MCG Light Towers. This project was clouded in controversy and at the end of the day, due to Union disputes the company name and assets were sold to the Victorian Governments V-Line Industries Pty Ltd and the company structure was renamed OD Transport Pty Ltd. The company’s management and employees stayed on and continued the business in a much downsized operation, in March 1987.

Today we are continually tailoring our fleet to make sure our expertise & experience in the over dimensional transport, cranage and construction industry is unsurpassed.
